Why I'm Learning Japanese
Learning Japanese over the past four weeks has sometimes been stressful, but always fun and interesting. I worried that I was starting the language too late for myself to truly grasp it, but I don't think that that has been the case. It hasn't been easy keeping up with particles, vocabulary and grammar, but I think that I'm managing alright. I'm studying the language not only because I am a political science student who studies Japanese politics and international relations in East Asia, but also because I truly enjoy Japanese culture. I have taken Japanese history, literature and film classes, and was enthralled by what I learned. I can't wait to continue with my studies this semester, and while I know that it will be a challenge, I'm sure that it will be worth it.
